Campus Assistance, Response, and Engagement (CARE)

The CARE Program seeks to be a safe and trusted campus resource that supports students who are overcoming extenuating circumstances. The CARE site contains information to assist students in accessing on and off campus resources related to food security, housing needs, mental health services, medical services, alcohol and other drug treatment, and other basic needs. If you have any questions, you can contact the CARE office at (707) 826-3504 or fill out a self-referral form.

Peer Mentoring

Peer mentors in the English department are here to serve you through one-on-one consultations and putting on events. Each peer mentor undergoes training to learn the ins-and-outs of the University. They can refer you to the Writing Studio or the Learning Center to help you with homework and introduce you to important resources on campus.

They will also help you with things like:

  • connecting with offices on campus such as housing, cultural centers, etc.
  • geting the most out of the English major
  • finding community in the English major (with the weekly homework vibes event, etc.)

Weekly Events and Activities
Peer mentors also create social opportunities to learn and have fun. For example, they host weekly “homework vibes” sessions where English majors come together to study. They also coordinate with the English department club, APT, to plan fun, community-building events such as trivia nights, holiday parties, and more.

When are mentors available and who do they mentor?
Mentors are available on a weekly basis to answer questions. Peer mentors can be utilized by both current and incoming students.

Get Answers to Your Questions
